I purchased my first house, an East Austin bungalow, at the ripe old age of 26 with a whopping $3,000 down payment. The day I closed, I moved tenants into the house, tossed my meager possessions in the garage and, with mandolin in hand, jumped in the band van for a two-week tour of Midwest College towns.

In the months that followed, all of my free time was spent constructing the 900 square foot apartment/ recording studio that became my home for nearly five years. It was not my first foray into home construction - far from my last, too. Most recently, my wife and I bought a small cottage in Zilker, eventually adding a two-story addition while saving the original house from obsolescence and neglect.

As a musician, I’ve been fortunate enough to perform all over the country and with such great artists as Neko Case, John Langford and the Old 97’s and worked in the studio with multi - Grammy winners Phil Ramone, Andre Previn and Peter, Paul and Mary. Now, mostly retired from music, I am focused on virtuosity in real estate and raising two amazing daughters.

Ever since I bought my first home, friends have asked my advice on real estate. It is a job that constantly offers new challenges; no two deals are ever the same. I am passionate about neighborhoods, livability and the powerful role real estate plays in these issues. My goal is to help my clients make mindful decisions about their homes and make the process as easy as possible.
